We are unveiling a new mercy ministry at Grace—a Blessing Box. A Blessing Box is a small food pantry stocked with items like non-perishable food and basic toiletries that might help fill in the gaps when a household is facing food insecurity due to a lay-off or unexpected accident or emergency. This need is especially acute today, as our community faces challenges due to COVID-19 and the restrictions and closures it has caused.
Our Blessing Box sits beneath the tree near the entrance to our parking lot. The only rule is that you “leave what you can, take what you need.” We encourage you to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries to fill our box! Keep in mind that the box is 2’x2’ with an 18” depth, so you may not have room for all the items you will bring. Any items that don’t fit can be brought to the church office.
Thank you to John Muessig for building our box and to the Board of Social Ministries, directed by Susan Hearn, for providing the funds to establish this new mercy ministry!
