December 28 is the Feast of the Holy Innocents in the Christian church. It is a festival that remembers the massacre of the young children of Bethlehem at the hand of King Herod as he attempted to kill the infant Jesus (Matthew 2:16-18). These children have been considered by the church to be the first martyrs.
